Remote Programming Internship

• During my internship, I helped develop a model in R Shiny that is used for calculating costs for various foodborne illnesses. Users can modify certain parameters such as the number of yearly cases, hospitalizations, or deaths. The program then runs a Monte Carlo simulation that predicts possible outcomes based on the information given. I would report back to my supervisors weekly to showcase progress, ask for assistance if needed, and discuss future plans.
